Blanca Machuca
Blanca Rosa Machuca was born in 1959 in Tucumán, Argentina. In Western astrology, she is a Water sign, while in Chinese astrology, she is an Earth sign—elements that have profoundly influenced her identity. She enjoys sinking her hands into the earth without worrying about how dirty they become, believing that what matters is caressing the roots and using water to wash away whatever is necessary to continue existing.
Her artistic training began in childhood, as her perception of beauty was her first horizon. During her adolescence, her playful exploration involved discovering something new in the landscape each day, along with other games related to vision and symbols. This understanding led her to realize that dedicating her life to artistic creation is her essence.
Blanca graduated as a teacher from the School of Fine Arts at U.N.T. and obtained her degree in art from the Faculty of Arts at U.N.T. Throughout her life, she has traveled daily as a visual artist, experimenting with various forms and materials, always investigating, discovering, and learning.
Unconcerned about defining the discipline of her works, she believes that the boundaries between them no longer exist. Since 2009, she has directed the Casalma art space in Yerba Buena, where she lives, dedicating herself to producing her work and serving as an educator.
She has acted as a juror and speaker at various universities and cultural spaces in the country.
Blanca Rosa Machuca nació en 1959 en Tucumán. Según el horóscopo occidental, pertenece al elemento agua, y en el horóscopo chino, al elemento tierra. Estos dos elementos han marcado profundamente su vida, reflejándose en su amor por trabajar con la tierra, sin importar cuánto se ensucien sus manos. Para ella, lo esencial es acariciar las raíces y usar el agua para limpiar lo necesario, permitiendo que todo siga existiendo.
Desde su infancia, la belleza fue su horizonte, moldeando su percepción artística. Durante la adolescencia, encontraba placer en descubrir diariamente aspectos inéditos del paisaje y en explorar los símbolos a través de la mirada. Estas experiencias le revelaron que dedicar su vida al arte era su verdadera esencia. Su formación académica incluye el título de docente obtenido en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (U.N.T.) y una licenciatura en arte de la Facultad de Artes de la misma universidad.
A lo largo de su vida, Blanca ha explorado diversas formas y materiales en el arte visual, viajando constantemente por el camino de la experimentación, la investigación y el aprendizaje. No se preocupa por encasillar sus obras en disciplinas específicas, ya que cree que los límites entre ellas han dejado de existir.
Desde 2009, dirige el espacio de arte Casalma en Yerba Buena, donde reside. Allí combina su labor como docente con la producción de su obra, continuando su trayectoria como artista visual comprometida y apasionada.
